How to make egg fried rice like Chinese takeaway

If you are looking for an easy and delicious rice recipe, this egg fried rice is it! This dish comes together quickly, 5 minutes and you are done, more importantly, it is made in one pan and packed with flavor. It is super easy to make at home and healthy too as you can control the ingredients that go into it. Once you learn to make this Chinese takeaway side dish recipe at home, you will find yourself making it over and over again. I didn’t use Chinese 5-spice for this recipe as it is the basic egg fried rice and the aim is that you should be able to make it yourself regardless of where you are reading this from. No doubt it adds extra flavor to the rice but it is not a deal breaker if you will be serving the rice with other Chinese dishes. Chinese 5 spice is often used in traditional Chinese cuisine, so it pairs well with other dishes from the same culture. If you want to add it to your egg fried rice, keep in mind that a little goes a long way, too much and your food will be overpowered by the spices. This recipe is vegetarian and can be made gluten-free if you swap the soy sauce for a gluten-free version. You can find this in the Asian aisle of your supermarket. Here in the UK, Kikkoman Tamari Gluten Free Soy Sauce is a popular option.
